Do you have data on military and private aircraft in the United States?
Answer
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) collects data for certified air carriers required by law to report to the Department of Transportation, under the following mandate:
- Accounting and Reporting Directives
- 14 CFR 241 - Uniform System of Accounts and Reports for Large Certificated Air Carriers
This does not include private or corporate planes, military aircraft, or air taxis.
You can find statistics on general aviation aircraft in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) publication General Aviation and Part 135 Activity Surveys.
For statistics on military aircraft, we recommend that you contact the US Department of Defense (DOD).
