Where can I find crash statistics by state?

Answer

For crash statistics by state, contact the State Departments of Transportation (DOT)

BTS also has state-level transportation safety data in State Transportation Statistics.

You can find data on fatal highway crashes in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS)

See also NHTSA's National Center for Statistics and Analysis (NCSA) Motor Vehicle Traffic Crash Data Resource: Traffic Safety Facts Publications.

BTS's National Transportation Statistics has a section on fatalities by mode (scroll down to Chapter 2).

You can access a State DOT website Google search engine at this site.
