Where can I find statistics on people and vehicles crossing US borders?
Answer
Border Crossing/Entry Data provided by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) are summary statistics for incoming crossings at the US-Canadian and the US-Mexican border at the port level. Border crossing data are collected at border ports by US Customs and Border Protection.
Data is collected on:
-
Trucks
-
Trains
-
Containers
-
Buses
-
Personal vehicles
-
Passengers
-
Pedestrians
Customs and Border Protection does not collect comparable data on outbound crossings. Review data from individual bridge operators, border state governments, or the Mexican and Canadian governments to find outbound vehicle data.
